2016 Year In Review

Happy Holidays and Season’s Greetings, I hope you are enjoying your down time and have made your business plan for 2017.

On behalf of Royal LePage Vision, I am proud to announce the end of one of our most productive years. 2016 was an eventful year, a lot of shake-up in our industry as well as in our company. If I was asked to describe 2016 in one word, I believe that word would be change. Our market went absolutely mad this summer, thanks to a lack of inventory and an over abundance of buyers. But stricter lending procedures introduced at the beginning of the 4th Quarter, along with seasonal cool-down helped slow the market on larger freehold homes across the city. The last change to our market came from the Provincial Government, who will double the Land Transfer Tax Rebate for First-Time Home Buyers and add an extra 0.5% Tax on Homes worth $2Million+. This was in stark contrast to our friends from Vancouver who targeted a specific segment, foreign investors, with a new tax of 15%. Going forward, I believe that we may see a return to a more controlled and regulated market with modest growth.

As for our company, by now you would have heard that back in April we changed our banner from RE/MAX to Royal LePage. Though historical, (we were the first RE/MAX to ever convert into a Royal LePage), it was a challenging change. From getting used to our new company’s culture, to warding off our competition from poaching our Realtors, to providing the same service to our Realtors and Clients through such a monumental change. But I have to commend our Team for keeping it all together, and helping us come out the other end as a leaner and meaner company. This year we achieved more than we set out to accomplish. The height of success we achieved provides us strength and strong evidence of continued success in the forthcoming year.

Thanks to our Realtors, our Support Team, our Partners, and our Brand, we have never been in a better position to grow substantially in the near future. So look out for more Royal LePage Vision Sold Signs, Office Signs, and Business Cards across the Greater Toronto Area in 2017. We invite you to Click Here to take a glimpse of Royal LePage Vision's Year in Review.
